Ed Walsh pitched a complete game at Sportsman'S Park as the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics lost a heartbreaker to St. Louis-AL Browns by the score of 4 to
3.

The game was won by St. Louis-AL with a run in the 9th inning.  Jack Lapp
doubled, and an error was also committed.  Olaf Henriksen came to the plate
and was walked intentionally.  Dode Paskert then lined a one-base hit giving
St. Louis-AL the victory as 7,346 happy fans celebrated wildly.  St. Louis-AL
managed 11 hits in their victory.  

Walsh(14-10) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Art Fromme(4-7)
was the loser in relief.  Wth the win St. Louis-AL now has a record of 60-51.
Philadelphia-AL has a record of 73-42 after the loss.
