St. Louis drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. Burt Shotton delivered a base-hit. Shotton swiped second base. Pete Compton then stroked a one-base hit. Gus Williams stepped in and he hit a deep fly scoring the run. For the game St. Louis out-hit Washington 12 to 6.
