Right fielder Dale Mitchell smacked 2 triples as the Pittsburgh Pirates
defeated the Cincinnati Reds 4 to 1 at Forbes Field.

Pittsburgh jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 2nd inning scoring one
runner.  Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 4th inning with no runs
scored after that point.  

The victory went to Joe Dobson(3-11) who went 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing 1
run. Dobson was helped out by Joe Page who recorded his 15th save.  Randy
Gumpert(3-8) was the loser.
