Ted Kluszewski had 3 base hits as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the New York-AL
Yankees 6 to 5 at Crosley Field.

In the bottom of the 7th inning Cincinnati went on top for good when they
scored 2 runs on 2 hits.  The biggest moment was provided by Pee Wee Reese
who electrified Crosley Field when he bombed a two-run dinger.  Cincinnati
and New York-AL each finished the afternoon with 10 hits.  

The win went to Willard Schmidt(13-3) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Don Bessent earned the save, his 35th.  George Zuverink(2-5) absorbed the
loss in relief.  He allowed Cincinnati 3 runs in 2 innings of work.
