Center fielder Dennis Casey launched 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Bob Emslie
pitched a complete game as the Baltimore Orioles topped the New York
Metropolitans by a score of 7 to 6 at Oriole Park.
Casey had a big day at the plate. He cracked a two-run shot in the 1st inning
and belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning. New York tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Emslie(21-13) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 6 runs. Jack
Lynch(23-18) absorbed the loss. 'Some losses are harder to take than others'
New York's manager lamented after the game. 'This was one of them.'
