Pete Meegan tossed a complete game and Bill Schenck went yard at Allens
Pasture as the Richmond Virginians won a thriller over the reeling Pittsburgh
Alleghenys in, 7 to 6.

Richmond scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning.  Jim Powell
banged out a single.  After an out was recorded, Schenck stepped in and he
ripped a single.  One out later, John Hanna then lined a base-hit giving
Richmond the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.  Richmond
finished with 11 hits in the victory.  

Meegan(2-1) got the victory, allowing 6 runs for the game. The losing pitcher
was Charlie Eden(0-1).  He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits and 3 walks in 8
and 2/3 innings.
