Dupee Shaw whitewashed Wilmington on 2 hits and Mike Slattery had 2 base hits
and 3 RBI at Dartmouth Grounds where the Boston Reds beat the Wilmington
Quicksteps 9 to 0.
Shaw(10-5) was tremendous on the mound for Boston. He allowed only 2 hits and
no walks in 9 innings. Boston banged out 11 hits on the afternoon.
The Only Nolan(1-1) took the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving
up 9 runs in 8 innings. Shaw was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was
a lot of fun out there. The fans gave me a lot of support as did my
teammates. We got the victory and I'll sure take 13 strikeouts anytime!'
