Left fielder Joe Sommer had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Hardie Henderson was able to
finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Baltimore
Orioles defeated the Brooklyn Grays in 10 innings by a score of 10 to 9 at
Washington Park.

The game was deadlocked at 8 after nine full innings. Baltimore won the game
in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Bill Traffley kicked off the
action when he tripled. After another out, Sommer came up and he ripped a
base-knock scoring a run. Sommer got a good lead and stole second. Oyster
Burns followed and he tripled scoring the final run of the inning. The game
was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5 times.

Henderson(21-25) was the winner allowing 9 runs for the game. Henry
Porter(15-20) absorbed the loss. He pitched 10 innings giving up 12 hits and
2 walks.

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Henderson, 'I got burned
on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
