Knell(1-2) gave Pittsburgh a solid outing. He allowed 8 hits and 5 walks in 9
innings.  Chicago threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Mark Baldwin(8-19) was charged with the loss.  'I had my good stuff today.'
Knell said. 'As the game went along I started to get the feeling that I was
going to strike out a bunch of hitters.'
