Lou Bierbauer had 3 base hits and 4 RBI at South End Grounds as the Pittsburg
Pirates pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Boston Beaneaters by the
count of 12 to 11.

Boston was unable to overcome the big offensive rally by Pittsburg in the 9th
inning as they creamed Boston blasting them with 7 runs on 7 hits. The big
moment was provided by Monte Cross who helped quiet the crowd when he tripled
which was good for two runs. Bill Hart(13-12) got help from Jim Gardner who
pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 1st save.

The loss was charged to Cozy Dolan(8-9) in relief. He gave up 4 runs and 5
hits in 2/3 of an inning. 'Connie Mack was estatic following the game, 'You
love stealing one on the road like this. We just kept plugging away until we
pulled it out!'
