Catcher Mike Heydon had 2 base hits and Casey Patten went the distance at
Sportsman'S Park as the Washington Nationals beat the St. Louis Browns by the
count of 5 to 2.

Washington came up with 2 runs in the top of the 5th inning when they came up
with 3 base hits.  It was enough to earn the victory.  Washington banged out
12 hits on the afternoon.  

Patten(9-17) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Jim Buchanan(1-8)
was the loser.  He pitched 9 innings and surrendered 12 hits and no walks.
