Ty Cobb had 5 hits and 7 RBI and George Mullin pitched 9 strong innings as the
Detroit Tigers really laid it on the hopeless Washington Nationals 13 to
1.

Cobb punished Washington with his bat. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st
inning, hit a single which was good for two runs in the 2nd inning, delivered
a one-base hit bringing home two baserunners in the 3rd inning, stroked a
base-hit bringing in a run in the 5th inning and delivered a single in the
8th inning. Detroit managed 13 hits in their victory.

The winning pitcher was Mullin(19-9) who allowed 1 run for the game. Cy
Falkenberg(5-10) absorbed the loss. He allowed 13 hits and 7 walks in 8
innings.

'Our guys just weren't seeing the ball today.' Joe Cantillon said. 'Mullin
simply dominated us.'
