Right fielder Gavvy Cravath had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Christy Mathewson went 9
solid innings as the Brooklyn Dodgers ballclub embarrassed the New York-NL
Giants by the count of 12 to 1.

Mathewson(19-12) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for
the New York-NL batters. He didn't allow much, just 4 hits and no walks in 9
innings. Brooklyn simply wore out the New York-NL pitching staff, scoring in
6 different innings.

The losing pitcher was Nap Rucker(11-11). He was knocked around by Brooklyn,
allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. 'He was moving it around
and spotting it very well.' Brian Capsello said. Mathewson pitched a great
game. He deserves all the credit.'
