The big moment was provided by Sid Gordon who deflated the mood of the
partisan fans when he lofted a three-run 'big-fly'.  New York-AL ended up
with 13 hits for the game while Chicago-NL had 9.  

The win was credited to Virgil Trucks(5-3) who went 6 innings allowing 1 run.
Satchel Paige got the save, his 6th.  Vic Raschi(11-6) ended up with the
