Ed Dugan allowed Richmond's manager to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game at Allens Pasture as the Richmond Virginians pulled off a dramatic
comeback beating the reeling Pittsburgh Alleghenys by the count of 13 to
12.

Richmond erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
scoring 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Jim Powell led off and started the
attack as he lined a one-base hit, and an error was also committed. After an
out was recorded, Bill Schenck came to the plate and cracked a two-run shot
making Richmond the winners and sending the 7 fans home happy. Even though
they scored in 6 different innings, Pittsburgh was not able to pull off the
win.

The win went to Dugan(5-3) who allowed 12 runs in the game. Fleury
Sullivan(10-28) took the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 13 runs
in 8 and 1/3 innings.
