Phil Knell had a complete game as the Philadelphia Athletics outscored the
Buffalo Bisons 7 to 4.

Buffalo was unable to climb back into it after Philadelphia went ahead for
good in the bottom of the 2nd inning scoring 2 runs on 2 hits. Joe Mulvey
led off and started the attack as he laced a base-hit. Bert Cunningham then
threw a wild pitch. After an out was recorded, John Pickett then reached on
an error. After another out, Lave Cross came to bat and smacked a single
plating two runs. Philadelphia rapped out 12 hits for the afternoon.

The win was credited to Knell(9-12) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs.
Cunningham(6-20) ended up with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 12 hits
and 6 walks in 8 innings.

Philadelphia now has a record of 52-55. Buffalo can't seem to snap out of
their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last
couple weeks.
