Philadelphia had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning plating 3 runs using 2 hits. John Titus opened up the inning nicely when he reached on an error. Bob Hall stepped up next and he reached on an error. Red Dooin then lined a one-base hit, and an error was also committed, knocking home two runners. After an out was recorded, Hugh Duffy stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Kid Gleason came up to bat and drew a walk to load the bases. Wolverton continued the rally and lined a single scoring the final run of the inning. Neither team was able to score until the 6th inning. The win went to Sutthoff(13-8) who allowed 8 runs in the game. Carl Lundgren(13-5) ended up with the loss. He was unable to control the Philadelphia offense and allowed 13 hits and 7 walks in 9 innings. 'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said Philadelphia's manager, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.'
