George McQuillan had a complete game and center fielder Fred Osborn had 2 base
hits and 3 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Pittsburg Pirates by a
score of 5 to 2.

Philadelphia went ahead for good in the top of the 3rd inning with 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Otto Knabe keyed the rally
when he smacked a single.  John Titus was next and he reached on an error.
Sherry Magee then hit a deep fly scoring a run.  Kitty Bransfield came up and
he was walked intentionally.  Osborn came up to bat and lined a one-base hit
scoring the final run of the inning.  Philadelphia had a total of 9 hits for
the game.
