The Pittsburgh Pirates won by a score of 10 to 0. Camnitz was obviously at the top of his game as he set the Brooklyn batters down like so many dominoes. He surrendered no walks and could have tossed a perfect game if it were not for the fielding error. What a day for the fans. They were on the edge of their seats from the 7th inning on. With every out, the electricity in the air mounted. Pittsburgh had a total of 13 hits for the game. George Bell(7-18) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 12 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Camnitz was in a jubilant mood after the game. 'If I'd known I was going to throw a no hitter I would have gotten a haircut!' he said, much to the delight of the clubhouse gathering.
