Bill Mountjoy pitched 9 strong innings at Recreation Park as the streaking
Cincinnati Red Stockings beat the Columbus Buckeyes 4 to 3.

Cincinnati scored 1 run in the top of the 6th inning.  Columbus tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.  The win was credited to
Mountjoy(14-10) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs. Frank Mountain(21-13)
was the losing pitcher.  He was stingy with the baserunners, allowing just 4
hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.
