Ed Beatin tossed a complete game as the Cleveland Spiders topped the Brooklyn
Bridegrooms by a score of 6 to 4 at Washington Park.

Cleveland scored 3 runs in the decisive 3rd inning. The big moment was
provided by Jake Virtue who helped quiet the crowd when he tripled which was
good for two runs. Brooklyn out-hit Cleveland 8 to 5, but Cleveland ended up
with more runs.

Beatin(13-29) finished the game allowing 4 runs in the victory. Adonis
Terry(21-13) ended up with the loss. 'After the stretch we have been through
lately, this victory is especially sweet' offered Gus Schmelz. Now, we just
have to make this the norm - not the exception!'
