Pud Galvin pitched a complete game as the Pittsburg Pirates defeated the New
York Giants by a score of 7 to 4 at Exposition Park.

Jake Beckley made sure the Pittsburg fans enjoyed themselves.  He doubled in
the 1st inning, lashed a single plating two runs in the 4th inning and
tripled bringing in two baserunners in the 6th inning.  Pittsburg had a total
of 9 hits for the game.  

Galvin(14-11) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Dad Clarkson(1-2)
ended up with the loss.  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 9 hits and 5
walks.
