Jack O'Connor had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Cy Young completed the game
without help from the bullpen at Polo Grounds as the Cleveland Spiders beat
the New York Giants 13 to 6.

Cleveland went ahead for good in the 4th inning with 2 runs on 2 hits.  Jimmy
McAleer led off and started the rally when he ripped a single.  Patsy Tebeau
was next and he lashed a single, and an error was also committed.  O'Connor
then hit a sacrifice fly plating a run.  Chief Zimmer stepped in and he hit a
deep fly scoring the final run of the inning.  Cleveland totaled 15 hits on
the afternoon.  

The victory went to Young(20-18) who went the distance allowing 6 runs. Jouett
Meekin(22-9) was hit with the loss.  He was knocked around by Cleveland,
allowing 13 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.
