WEB GEMS- Bot 5th: Joe Tinker robbed Pat Moran of a base hit.

Carl Lundgren pitched a complete game as the very talented Chicago Cubs bested
the struggling Boston Beaneaters 11 to 9 at South End Grounds.

Chicago won the game with a rally in the top of the 8th inning plating 3 runs
on 2 base hits. Joe Tinker started the inning off right when he slapped a
single. Billy Maloney came to the plate and reached on an error. Frank
Chance then drew a walk to load the bases. Johnny Kling followed next and he
lined a one-base hit driving in two more baserunners. Kling took his lead
and swiped second. Lundgren contributed to the rally and hit a deep fly
scoring the final run of the inning. Chicago had 13 hits for the afternoon.

Lundgren(9-6) finished the game allowing 9 runs in the victory. Vic
Willis(7-25) was given the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits
and 3 walks in 8 innings.
