The St. Louis-AL Browns edged the Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings at Sportsmans
Park by the score of 2 to 1.

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Finally, St. Louis-AL prevailed
in the 10th inning.  Jimmy Slagle delivered a base-hit.  Hobe Ferris followed
next and he reached on an error.  Larry McLean then laid down a sacrifice
bunt.  Joe Birmingham stepped in and he lined a single giving St. Louis-AL
the victory as 7,386 happy fans celebrated wildly.  St. Louis-AL and
Cincinnati each finished the afternoon with 6 hits.  

Ed Reulbach(16-8) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. The loss
was charged to Buster Brown(1-4) in relief.  The winning ways continue for
St. Louis-AL.  They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days.  Doug Hatch was
pretty down after the loss.  'We've really been sputtering along lately,
something like 2-8 in the last week or two.  That won't get it done.'
