The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Finally, St. Louis-AL prevailed in the 10th inning. Jimmy Slagle delivered a base-hit. Hobe Ferris followed next and he reached on an error. Larry McLean then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Joe Birmingham stepped in and he lined a single giving St. Louis-AL the victory as 7,386 happy fans celebrated wildly.
