Walter Clarkson completed the game without help from the bullpen at Hilltop
Park as the St. Louis Browns lost a heartbreaker to New York Highlanders by
the score of 4 to 3.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning. Frank Delahanty ripped a
single.  George Moriarty was next and he reached on an error.  Red Kleinow
then reached on an error.  Willie Keeler stepped in and he smacked a single
giving New York the victory as 7,159 happy fans celebrated wildly.  The game
was a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.  

The win was credited to Clarkson(5-1) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs.
Fred Glade(14-9) took the loss.  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 10 hits
and 3 walks.
