The Chicago-NL Cubs pitching coach might be looking for a new job soon. His
team allowed 13 runs while Otto Hess(8-12), with relief help from Ray Fisher,
surrendered 3 runs to Chicago-NL in a laugher.
In the 2nd inning Detroit went on top for good scoring 2 runs. Jimmy Esmond
led off and got things going when he reached on an error. Hess followed and
he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Buddy Ryan then drew a walk. Larry Cheney
then let one slip out of his hand for a wild pitch. One out later, Zack
Wheat came to bat and ripped a single bringing in two baserunners. Detroit
finished with 17 hits while Chicago-NL ended up with 8.
