TEAM RISP- Phillies: 7 for 18 Reds: 2 for 15

In an entertaining game at Palace Of The Fans the final score was the
Philadelphia-NL Phillies 10, the Cincinnati Reds 7.

The difference in the game was the offensive outburst by Philadelphia-NL in
the top of the 8th inning as they erupted for 9 runs on 8 hits. The biggest
moment was provided by Joe Stanley who quieted the home crowd when he stroked
a base-hit scoring two baserunners. Cincinnati had a chance to come back in
the 9th but they came up short.

The winning pitcher was War Sanders(2-1) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Sanders got help from Jack McFetridge who earned his 5th save. John
Malarkey(13-11) absorbed the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 3
walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.

Doug Hatch was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even you guys up in the press
box know why we lost this game. We made too many mistakes.'
