Slim Sallee came through with a solid 9 innings as the Cincinnati Reds bested
the Boston-AL Red Sox 1 to 0 at Redland Field.

Boston-AL surrendered what proved to be the only run of the contest when
Cincinnati scored in the 7th inning.  Cincinnati had just 5 hits for the
afternoon.  

Sallee(10-8) was credited with the shutout. Walter Johnson(19-13) was given
the loss.  He allowed just 5 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings.  

With this win, Cincinnati has a division leading 77-55 record.  They have been
7-3 lately.  Boston-AL has a record of 58-74 after the loss.
