Walter Johnson came through with a solid 9 innings at Fenway Park where the
Boston-AL Red Sox beat the Brooklyn Dodgers by the score of 9 to 0.

Brooklyn was unable to claim the lead after Boston-AL went ahead in the 2nd
inning with 2 runs on 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Bill Killefer
began the rally when he doubled. One out later, Johnson came to the plate
and reached on an error. Max Carey then tripled scoring two baserunners.
That was all the offense they were to need. Boston-AL banged out 14 hits on
the afternoon.

For Johnson(26-7) it was his 9th shutout this year. Jean Dubuc(8-10) took the
loss. He was hit hard and gave up 14 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.

'Johnson gave us exactly what we needed today.' Boston-AL's manager said.
'When he threw the fastball he threw it for strikes. They were really fooled
by his change. Most of the time he had them chasing it.'
