The Pittsburgh Pirates pitchers essentially took the day off at Fenway Park as
the Boston Red Sox offense erupted for 11 runs while Fred Hutchinson(9-8),
with relief help from Junior Walsh, held Pittsburgh to 1 run.

Boston started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first when they scored 3 runs on 4 hits. That early run support was enough
for Hutchinson and Boston. For the game Boston out-hit Pittsburgh 14 to 2.

Walsh gained credit for his 2nd save. The loss was charged to Allie
Reynolds(6-10). He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.
