George Zettlein pitched a complete game and Andy Allison had 4 hits and 2 RBI
at Jefferson St Grounds as the Brooklyn E Eckfords beat the Philadelphia
Athletics by the count of 13 to 11.

Brooklyn E won the game with a rally in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs on 4
hits. After an out was recorded, Candy Nelson began the rally when he
slapped a one-base hit. Allison followed next and he laced a base-knock.
One out later, Jim Snyder then delivered a base-hit which was good for two
runs. Snyder took second on the throw. Zettlein was up next and he doubled
scoring the final run of the inning. Philadelphia scored in 7 different
innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.

Zettlein(14-15) was the winner allowing 11 runs for the game. Dick
McBride(17-12) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 13 runs in 9 innings of
work.
