Catcher Deacon McGuire had 4 hits and 5 RBI and Varney Anderson allowed Gus
Schmelz to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Washington
Senators man-handled the hapless Louisville Colonels - the final score was 19
to 6.

The Washington fans enjoyed the offense provided by McGuire. He doubled in
the 4th inning, doubled knocking in a run in the 6th inning, slapped a
base-hit bringing home two baserunners in the 7th inning and lined a single
resulting in a run in the 8th inning. Washington provided plenty of action
in the 1st inning with 5 runs and the 7th inning with 6 runs on 5 hits. The
Washington offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.

The victory was credited to Anderson(4-15) who went the distance, allowing 6
runs. Gus Weyhing(8-16) took the loss. He was touched for 21 hits and 2
walks in 8 innings.
