Willie Sudhoff tossed a complete game at Sportsman'S Park as the smoking-hot
St. Louis Browns won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the ice-cold
Philadelphia Athletics by the count of 4 to 3.

St. Louis scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 4
runners on 4 hits. Both teams totaled 7 hits on the afternoon.

The victory was credited to Sudhoff(9-8) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. The loss was charged to Bill Duggleby(4-3) in relief. He gave up 2
hits and 1 walk without retiring a batter.

'Now there is a lesson in perseverance for you,' Bobby Wallace noted. 'It was
looking pretty dim there for a while, but we just kept plugging away and it
really paid off in spades! And it was great to see the crowd go crazy there
at the end!'
