Frank Schulte recorded 4 RBI with one swing when he ripped a grand slam as the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics topped the Washington Nationals in 10 innings by a
score of 12 to 11 at Shibe Park.

The game was deadlocked at 11 after nine full innings.  Finally,
Philadelphia-AL pulled the game out in the 10th inning.  Frank Laporte
reached on an error.  One out later, Art Fromme followed, but he was set down
on strikes.  Al Bridwell then ripped a base-hit.  Tris Speaker followed next
and he doubled making Philadelphia-AL the victor and beginning a joyous home
town celebration.  Philadelphia-AL had 15 hits for the afternoon.

Fromme(5-7) got the win allowing 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings. Eddie Stack(5-3)
was the losing pitcher in relief.  He got hammered, allowing 7 hits and 3
walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
