Ivey Wingo collected 2 extra-base hits and had 4 RBI at Sportsman'S Park where
the St. Louis-AL Browns beat the Boston-AL Red Sox by the score of 12 to
5.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Wingo.  He tripled bringing in two baserunners in the 2nd inning,
banged out a single in the 3rd inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in
the 8th inning.  For the game St. Louis-AL out-hit Boston-AL 17 to 11.

Rube Marquard(18-14) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and
allowing 5 runs. Marquard got relief help from Hank Robinson who gained
credit for his 50th save.  Doc Crandall(4-8) was the loser.  He surrendered
12 runs in 8 innings and saw his ERA increase from 4.14 to 4.83.
