The St. Louis Cardinals readily handled Washington Nationals by a score of 7
to 3 at Sportsman's Park.

Washington was unable to claim the lead after St. Louis went ahead in the 7th
inning as they scored 2 runs on 3 base hits.  The key offensive moment was
provided by Pee Wee Reese who brought a roar from the partisan Sportsman's
Park fans when he hit a single bringing home two baserunners.  St. Louis had
11 hits overall, while Washington had 4.  

Monk Dubiel(6-3) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Bob Feller(10-14)
took the loss.  He surrendered 8 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
