Dusty Rhodes was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He blasted a two-run home run in the 1st inning and doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 1st inning. Philadelphia-AL bats were very productive in the 1st inning which saw them score 9 runs on 9 hits. Philadelphia-AL finished with 19 hits while Cincinnati ended up with 9. Johnny Antonelli(12-5) picked up the victory, allowing 9 runs in 5 innings. Bob Porterfield(14-6) ended up with the loss. He gave up 12 runs in 3 innings and saw his ERA jump from 3.42 to 3.89.
