Bill Vinton allowed just 2 hits as the Philadelphia Athletics defeated the
Baltimore Orioles by a score of 8 to 2 at Jefferson St Grounds.

Philadelphia claimed the early lead in the first inning when they scored 2
runs on 2 hits.  After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score.  

The winning pitcher was Vinton(2-0) who allowed 2 runs for the game. George
Wetzel(1-1) was given the loss.  His ERA increased from 1.00 to 4.24 as he
allowed 8 runs in 8 innings.  

'I thought it was my best performance in a long time,' said Vinton. 'I had
good command early in the game. I had my control and composure and everything
went well.'
