Oyster Burns collected 2 extra-base hits and had 3 RBI and Adonis Terry went
the distance as the Brooklyn Bridegrooms won a dandy at Washington Park over
the Cincinnati Red Stockings, 10 to 9.

The game was won by Brooklyn with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Hub
Collins laced a one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Dave Foutz came to
bat and smacked a single. Foutz got a great jump and stole second easily.
Burns stepped in and he stroked a single giving Brooklyn the victory as 5,711
happy fans celebrated wildly. Even though they scored in 5 different
innings, Cincinnati was not able to pull off the win.

Terry(18-13) allowed 9 runs on the game. Lee Viau(15-19) was tagged with the
loss. He got hammered, allowing 11 hits and 5 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.

'I was a little good, a little bad and a little ugly.' said Terry, 'I was just
giving us a chance to win.'
