Both teams had scored 10 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Baltimore prevailed in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Joe Kelley was hit by a pitch. Jake Stenzel stepped up next and he doubled making Baltimore the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. St. Louis out-hit Baltimore 16 to 13, but Baltimore ended up with more runs. Pond(19-5) lasted until the end allowing 10 runs for the win. Willie Sudhoff(0-2) suffered the loss. He was unable to control the Baltimore offense and allowed 13 hits and 4 walks in 9 and 1/3 innings. 'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it was nothing.' Pond said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the ball where I wanted it.'
