Arlie Pond was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game as the amazing Baltimore Orioles defeated the woeful St. Louis Browns in
10 innings 11 to 10 at Union Park.

Both teams had scored 10 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Baltimore
prevailed in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Joe Kelley was hit
by a pitch. Jake Stenzel stepped up next and he doubled making Baltimore the
victors to the delight of the home town faithful. St. Louis out-hit
Baltimore 16 to 13, but Baltimore ended up with more runs.

Pond(19-5) lasted until the end allowing 10 runs for the win. Willie
Sudhoff(0-2) suffered the loss. He was unable to control the Baltimore
offense and allowed 13 hits and 4 walks in 9 and 1/3 innings.

'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Pond said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the
ball where I wanted it.'
