In a lop-sided win the Washington Nationals ripped the Boston Red Sox by a 10
to 5 count.

Tom Hughes(14-10) was solid if not spectacular.  He was reached for 12 hits
and 4 walks in 8 innings.  Boston had a chance to come back in the 9th but
they came up short.  

Elmer Steele(2-4) was given the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 11
hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.  'It was a tough one to lose' said
Deacon McGuire 'We'll get them next time out.'
