George Gibson slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI at Shibe Park where the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics beat the Brooklyn Dodgers by the score of 5 to
1.

Philadelphia-AL did all the necessary damage in the 8th inning when they came
up with 5 runs on 6 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Gibson who
brought a roar from the partisan Shibe Park fans when he popped a two-run
clout over the fence. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until
the 7th inning.

Frank Lange(13-10) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings.
George Suggs(14-12) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 8 hits and 2
walks in 7 innings.
