Left fielder Gus Williams had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds
topped the Washington Nationals by a score of 9 to 3 at Griffith
Stadium.

Cincinnati scored 3 runs in the top of the 4th inning when they came up with 3
base hits.  They would hold up as the winning runs.  Cincinnati kept the
pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.

The win was credited to Hugh Bedient(14-8) who went 6 innings allowing 2 runs.
Slim Sallee preserved the game for Bedient, recording his his 4th save.  Pat
Ragan(2-7) was charged with the loss.  Cincinnati knocked him around a bit,
as he gave up 8 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.
