Virgil Trucks whitewashed Washington on 3 hits and Eddie Robinson had 3 base
hits at Griffith Stadium as the New York-AL Yankees beat the Washington
Nationals by the count of 2 to 0.

Trucks(8-3) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Washington offense. He
surrendered only 3 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Trucks racked up 10
strikeouts lowering his ERA to 3.31. New York-AL rapped out 8 hits for the
afternoon.

Murry Dickson(12-16) was charged with the loss. 'I had my good stuff today.'
Trucks said. 'As the game went along I started to get the feeling that I was
going to strike out a bunch of hitters.'
