Ted Breitenstein completed the game without help from the bullpen as the St.
Louis Browns defeated the Boston Beaneaters 7 to 6 at South End Grounds.

The game was decided in the top of the 9th inning.  Roger Connor cracked a
solo homerun.  The Boston offense proved no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.

Breitenstein(13-24) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 6 runs. The
losing pitcher was Jack Stivetts(16-15).  He gave up 13 hits and no walks in
9 innings.
