Deacon Morrissey had a complete game at Washington Park where the Chicago
Orphans beat the Brooklyn Superbas by the score of 8 to 4.

Chicago scored 3 runs in the decisive 5th inning with the help of 4 hits.
After an out was recorded, Johnny Kling began the Chicago spurt when he
doubled.  Joe Tinker stepped into the batter's box and he banged out a single
which scored a run.  Jim Murray then laced a one-base hit.  Johnny Evers
followed next and he drew a walk to load the bases.  After another out, Bobby
Lowe came to bat and smacked a base-hit as another two runners scored.  Lowe
took second on the throw.  Chicago managed 13 hits in their victory.

Morrissey(1-0) finished the game allowing 4 runs in the victory. Roy
Evans(10-17) ended up with the loss.  He was unable to control the Chicago
offense and allowed 13 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings.
