Deacon Phillippe was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 7 to
1 at Exposition Park.

Phillippe(7-12) had a strong outing.  He allowed only 5 hits and 2 walks in 9
innings.  Pittsburgh finished with 7 hits in the victory.  

Ed Karger(8-10) ended up with the loss.  He allowed 7 runs and 7 hits in 8
