Willie Hogan had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the St. Louis Browns topped the
Detroit Tigers by a score of 7 to 5 at Sportsman's Park.

St. Louis had 5 runs cross the plate in the 4th inning. The crucial at-bat
was provided by Burt Shotton who excited the crowd when he tripled clearing
all three ducks off the pond. Detroit made it exciting in the 9th, but they
were unable to push the needed runs across.

Walter Moser(1-4) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Roy
Mitchell gained credit for his 2nd save. Ed Willett(13-10) was the losing
pitcher.

'It was a tough one to lose' said Hughie Jennings 'We'll get them next time
out.'
