George Cutshaw had 2 base hits as the Brooklyn Superbas defeated the
Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 8 to 7 at Baker Bowl.

Elmer Knetzer(8-4) did the job in relief, and he got credit for the win. He
went 1/3 of an inning and surrended up 1 hit and no walks. Philadelphia
tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Nap Rucker was credited with his 4th save. Toots Shultz(2-5) took the loss in
relief. 'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Red Dooin said. 'We
did what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
